However, the challenge that Stocke imposed on the bit of thievery piqued his interest. They had never actively worked against one another. Not in this fashion. Though Garrett had no doubt who was the better thief, he knew Stocke's talents and skills and that interested him here.
The place in question was not far from Garrett's location at the time. It took him little time to get there and only a bit more to study it from the outside. It was a haste job but he could live with that. It would not be the first time he had acted on impulse to steal from under the guards' noses.
Getting inside was easy. Traversing the inside was almost just as easy. Garrett found some duct work early on and spent his time crawling through the narrow space with his limbs tucked in tight. It did not bother him in the least. He was comfortable there.
Now it was just a matter of spotting the prize before anyone else found it.]

[(Too bad he doesn't know Garrett's found a way to circumvent the problem.)]
[The shade ducks under a table, eyes shut as he listens to footsteps stride past. He slides out from underneath once the guard's moved on, shadowing - taking one step to every one of the human's. He keeps an ear perked for the other guard, tendrils pulled close to his back to avoid casting unusual shadows.]
[Stocke halts once they reach a door that seems to lead to a bedroom. He tilts his head at it consideringly as the guard continues on without him. If he had something valuable... well, he'd keep it on his person. But if not that, close to where he sleeps is a fair guess, isn't it?]
[The door isn't even locked - the shade slips through the small gap he's made, shutting it quietly on the sound of soft breathing. (Instant backup plan: wake the sleeper and threaten them into telling him where it is.) First, though - he scans the walls.]
[Two of them are absolutely covered in masks.]
[....ah.]
